Tips for Making Cotton Candy Flavored Fudge

  • The cotton candy flavoring is optional, but I recommend it wholeheartedly. It’s a fun surprise for anyone who loves cotton candy and the kids will go wild.
  • I chose pink fudge with a sweet sugar sprinkle, but change it up a bit with purple or a pink and purple swirl. I’m reminded of the colors in the Nutcracker ballet we would go and see every year, and I swoon for different combinations.
  • The best part about this fudge is that once you make it, it’s good for up to 2 weeks. Store it in an airtight container to keep it nice and fresh.
  • If you are baking for holiday parties or Valentine’s Day (this would be perfect for Valentine’s parties), add sugared heart sprinkles. They’re too cute on this sweet treat.
  • This fudge was cut into squares, but don’t feel you have to do that. Small cookie cutters (less than 2 inches) are also great for themed fudge.
  • I’m asked a lot about large batch fudge pans and I use the larger of these. I love the lids and will say that I have purchased this many times because I like to bring over the dishes WITH the fudge in one as a house-warming gift.

Can You Freeze Fudge?

I get this question a lot and yes, you can freeze fudge. If you’re making fudge for one (or two), just freeze some for you to enjoy layer. It’s as simple as adding the fudge to a freezer-safe bag and keeping it until you’re ready.

Because I tend to take out just a bit at a time when I store it, I like wrapping each piece in a wax or parchment paper to make it easy to separate. Never keep a girl from her fudge.

The great thing about frozen fudge is that you can eat it straight from the freezer or let it thaw at room temperature and enjoy. I also love that you can freeze a batch of fudge and then eat it piece by piece as you’d like.
