Copycat Famous Recipe Roundup (2024)

I just love popular copycat recipes like Disneys Pineapple Dole Whip or famous menu items from popular restaurants, like this marvelous roundup of 25 recipes below.

Some are very famous and popular Nationally.

Through the years I recreated many of what we love and some of the most popular delicious great replicas until you can get to your favorite place!

It became an obsession to duplicate the recipes I enjoyed especially when we moved away and only visit some of our favorites once every few years.

I certainly love a good challenge in the kitchen.

Some of the recipes in this roundup may be very familiar and some are from my hometown bakeries where I grew up.

Starting out with Captain Crunch chicken that was a famous deep-fried chicken from Stallone's Planet Hollywood back in the 1980s. Its sweet coating became addicting after one bite and the chicken is dipped in homemade honey mustard.

Then on to present-day Longhorns Parmesan Crusted Chicken where it's smothered in melted cheese, ranch, and a crunchy parmesan topping and a favorite menu item.

I then have a love for the food court delicious bourbon chicken which I thought was the best mall food!!

Decadent desserts came easy, the one we really loved was at BJs brewhouse called pizooki, a warm macadamia nut cookie made into an ice cream sundae.

Last but not least my latest copycat Dole Whip From Disney's Theme Park in Orlando, a simple frozen fruity recipe that's printable at the bottom of this post, it's so refreshing and delicious!

Copycat Favorites

Reminiscing over Central N.Y. foods I loved, where I grew up, I recreated famous cheesecake, pusties, cookies, pizza, chicken riggies and bagels from the local fabulous businesses in Utica, New York.

Even if you've never had some of these treats from where I grew up, they're all great recipes to try.

One soup that sticks in my mind is featured in most Japanese Steakhouses Nationally that's rich-tasting mushroom soup, and the perfect start to any meal.

Then turning back time a little, cowboy cookies were the craze in the 1970s again recreated by Doubletree Hotels and one of my favorite cookie recipes of all time.

Let's not forget having to wait all year for our favorite Girl Scout Cookies, these copycat recipes you will find almost everyone they made and some even retired recipes.

Copycat recipes are fun to make and eat.

Brings back great memories and certainly makes new ones with friends and family.

Homemade recipes are always the best.

Whether you're looking for fun foods to make with the kids or try some foods from places you've never been before, these are all part of some famous history past and present to start with.

Copycat Disney's Pineapple Dole Whip

Yield: 1

Author: Claudia Lamascolo

prep time: 10 Mcook time: 25 Mtotal time: 35 M

a favorite pineapple frozen treat you will find at Disney the famous theme park..

ingredients:

  • 4 cups pineapple, frozen, chopped, strawberries, peaches or other frozen fruit you prefer
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk {any other liquid milk such as dairy, almond, whole milk
  • 1 cup real whipped cream or used thawed whipped topping

instructions:

How to cook Copycat Dole Whip From Disney

  1. Place frozen chopped pineapple, condensed milk, and liquid milk in the blender or food processor.
  2. Process until pineapple is smooth. (You may need to stop machine and scoop mixture down a few times until smooth.)
  3. Fold in the real whipped cream at the end.
  4. Scoop out with an ice cream scoop, or squeeze through a pastry bag, cookie press, or a plastic bag with an edge cut off.
  5. Tip: soft-serve that holds its shape longer, freeze the swirled dole whip at least 20 minutes prior to serving in your plastic cups.
  6. Note:.
  7. I added it to my battery-operated cookie press and swirled it into a see-through plastic cup.
  8. I also have added this to my ice cream maker to whip smoother. for 20 minutes. You don't need to do that step, no worries if you don't have the machine
