Priceline Credit Card Review
3.0 / 5
- Great Priceline rewards. You will earn 5 points / $1 spent on most Priceline.com purchases made with your Priceline Credit Card. Those points are worth 1 penny apiece when redeemed toward a Priceline purchase. That means your Priceline earning rate could be as high as 5%. Gas stations and restaurant purchases will earn you 2 points / $1 spent and all other purchases will earn you only 1 point / $1 spent, so it’s clear the Priceline Card is best used as a Priceline specialist.
- There are some exceptions. Not all Priceline.com purchases are equally rewarding for Priceline Visa Card users. Among the items that are not eligible for the 5-points-per-$1 earning rate are cruise bookings, “Pay When You Stay” hotel bookings and non-Name Your Own Price® car reservations. That might not end up being a big deal, but you should definitely keep it in mind.
- Not great for financing. Although the Priceline Rewards Visa Card does offer 0% for 15 months interest on balance transfers, it also has a 5% (min $5) balance-transfer fee. So it can’t compare to the best market offers.
- No annual fee. If you’re going to open a credit card just for purchases from a single retailer, app or website, you probably don’t want to pay a fee, as it would be harder to get your money’s worth with limited spending. So in that sense, it’s good that the Priceline Credit Card doesn’t have an annual fee. But it’s also worth noting that some of the best travel rewards credit cards do charge fees, they give you more than enough extra rewards – across all purchases – to make up for it.
- Must be a brand-loyal frequent traveler with good credit. The Priceline Rewards Visa Credit Card really doesn’t make sense for anyone without a busy travel itinerary. And it won’t help you very much if you can’t commit to booking your travel on Priceline. Otherwise, you simply won’t earn enough or be able to redeem frequently enough for it to be worthwhile. Finally, the Priceline Credit Card requires good or excellent credit for approval, so make sure to check your credit score for free on WalletHub before applying.

You should report your Priceline credit card as lost as soon as possible, by calling 866.928.8598.
Keep in mind that federal law limits your liability for unauthorized charges. The most you'll pay is $50. But act fast. You'll want to resolve the matter before anyone starts racking up bogus transactions and fraudulent charges on your card.

How much is the Priceline Credit Card cancellation fee?
Reply

Irwin Kelso
@irwin_kelso
The Priceline Credit Card doesn't have a cancellation fee. But it's better to pay what you owe in full before canceling the card, to avoid being charged with further interest.
Just remember that canceling a credit card might have a negative impact on your credit score for a short while. To avoid this, you can just leave it open without using it.

To cancel your Priceline Credit Card, contact customer service by calling (866) 928-8598, or the number on the back of your card.
Canceling a credit card may hurt your credit score for a little while. If I were you, I'd just leave it open without using it.

The Priceline Credit Card doesn't offer travel insurance. The only benefits it has to offer are:
- 0% foreign transaction fee
- Unlimited rewards earning
- $0 fraud liability protection
- Concierge services
For a credit card offering great travel insurance, I'd suggest checking out the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card.

I would never recommend this card. Had i for less than a year and I already closed it. I was late 1 day to make payment due to life. I asked to wave late fee and they refused. Mind you I had 1000 balance I paid in full at one point and never been late. Any of my other cards will give you at least a onetime override. Customer service didnt even try. They dont care for their customers. There are 100s of CC that have better rates and better perks. DONT USE PRICELINE

This credit card is just a straight up scam. It’s only good until the APR is 0% watch out because they will try to charge you 20% interest APR after that don’t get jammed up this card is a scam and these people do not care. They are vultures I accumulated Accumulated 778 points and they did not want to give me my $7.78. Can you believe that every other card on the planet that you cash out or pay it towards your bill they only let you pay towards your bill and then when you’re closing your account because the APR is too high, you would not be able to redeem your points. This is this card is a complete scam .

Priceline Visa would not do a chargeback for an abhorrent uninhabitable hotel. I reported that the hotel room stretched with smoke so severely I suffered medical issues. I told them a drug dealer threatened me in the lobby. I immediately found a different hotel. They have a record of me paying for the other hotel. Still no chargeback.

WORST! WORST! WORST! Do not get this card! The customer service is ridiculous. A fraudulent charge was placed on my card and after sending multiple letters and several phone calls, they still would not reverse it. I cannot wait until this card is paid off to close this account. Never again. Zero star credit card company

If I could give them 0 stars, I absolutely would. First of all, their offers to sign up for the card via checkout on travel websites are such a SCAM! They do not honor any rewards for signing up, plus their credit check was a hard hit on my regular credit - and I’m still recovering from it. Secondly, their customer service is AWFUL. They are rude, unhelpful, and will make you talk to Barclays (their partner) and Barclays will make you talk to them. I already canceled my account after only 3 months because I’ve had so many issues with them - it’s not worth it.

This is one of my favorite cards and have had it closest to the longest period of all my accounts and will remain a member for a much longer period than expected. My initial available credit was $1,00 and three years later it has grown to $2,600 by paying on-time payments and greater than minimum amount due. I don't take much advantage of the cash back benefits but once a quarter use them completely up to always try to keep my current balance at or close to zero.
